Dear YMCA Members and Program Participants:

 

On behalf of the Board of Directors and staff at the Appleton YMCA, I am pleased and excited to announce that a major renovation and remodeling of our facility has been approved to begin immediately.

 

Based on the results of our member satisfaction study, community needs survey and recent fundraising efforts, a plan has been approved to remodel, upgrade, and enhance the following areas beginning on Monday, October 15, 2007:

 

·        Splashpad Area

Aquatic recreational interactive play area offering endless enjoyment of water as it is sprayed, gushed, dumped and poured from play products

 

·        New Family Fun Center

Located in the Junction area featuring a backyard youth sports theme creating fun for the entire family

 

·        New Equipment in Lifestyle Center

New state-of-the-art strength line featuring cutting-edge technology.  Individual TVs on over 50 pieces of equipment

 

·        New Free Weight Room

Relocation and redesign of the free weight room featuring an expansion in equipment offerings to meet the varying needs of users

 

·        New Personal Fitness Program (PFP) Area

Relocation of PFP for easier access to locker rooms and expanded area

 

·        Relocation of Mind, Body, Spirit Studio

Specially designed studio with temperature, music and lighting control in a quiet atmosphere

 

·        Relocation of Cycling Studio

New motivating cycling atmosphere

 

·        New Café and Coffee Bar

Coffee, café, vending machines & a kitchenette offering many menu options

 

 

The New Multi-Purpose Room (in the Junction area) was completed spring 2007 as part of the renovation plan for preschool, youth, teen and adult programs.

 

Construction will begin on Monday, October 15, 2007 with a majority of the projects to be completed by the end of April 2008!
