of the Fox Cities’ branches and camp,
and has since 1888.Countless children have
learned to swim in our pools, helping them to stay safe throughout their lives.
Generations of leaders have enjoyed the lessons learned at Camp Nan A Bo Sho and have passed them
along in all facets of life. And how many carloads of kids have enjoyed
birthday parties, classes, and time with friends at our Ys?
Just five
years ago, we opened two new Ys and the welcome has
been phenomenal. More than twice as many people use our facilities today
– and we’re bursting at the seams.

Right now, the YMCAs of the
Fox Cities serve 29,000 members, up 55% from 2002, and touch thousands more
program participants each year. We are proud to collaborate with more than 380
local organizations. Countless others in our community benefit
from our unique programs that:
·
make
life safer and more enjoyable for our children and adolescents
·
encourage
and teach future leaders
·
promote
health and wellness for youth, adults and active older adults
·
provide
new parents with positive role models and a network of support
·
strengthen
families and create life-long memories
·
activate
people of all ages, helping them reap the benefits
of a healthier lifestyle
·
give
acceptance and support to people richly diverse in ability, age, belief and
income
The residents of the Fox West area are
limited by the lack of swimming pools in which they can learn to swim,
exercise, rehabilitate and stay safe in the water. A swimming pool, expansions
to the fitness, program and childcare areas
improve our ability to serve the young families and active adults in our
western service area.
At
the Appleton and Neenah-Menasha YMCAs, renovations improve our service for
today’s families. Pool enhancements and Family Fun Centers give children
and adults alike a place to play and spend time together. Lounge areas provide a
place to build relationships. Upgrades to cardiovascular and strength-training
equipment help people of all ages enhance health and fitness.

At the Heart of the Valley
YMCA, youth and adult programming is limited by the amount of gym and classroom
space available. A second gym will allow for the expansion of youth sports, and
adult sport leagues and fitness programs.
Volunteers have always been
the heart and soul of the YMCA. Today, a volunteer team of community leaders
committed to our $8 million goal is working together to respond to local
residents’ needs and provide the programs and facilities for which people
have hungered.
We need you to make it
happen. The YMCA can make these projects a reality only with the full commitment
of Fox Cities’ residents and companies. That’s why we’re
counting on you to help us meet the challenges of enriching our growing
community.
