Snow Shoe Rental

Snow Shoe Rental - (All Ages) (ACY, FWY) Enjoy a winter hike in the Bruce B. Purdy Nature Preserve at the Apple Creek YMCA or along the Fox West YMCA trail that links up to Lions Park. Child and Adult size snowshoes can be rented for day use only on the Apple Creek and Fox West YMCA properties.

For grades K-6. Come have some fun in the pool and gym. Games, races, prizes, and Holiday Fun! The fun begins in the Buchanan Pool from 1:00-2:15 PM and continues in the McGuire gym from 2:30-4:30pm at the Appleton YMCA. Children may be dropped off, but there is not a supervised check in and out procedure. *Must register prior to the event, sorry no refunds. Holiday Baseball Clinic - Wisconsin School of Baseball • HVY

The Heart of Valley YMCA is excited to be hosting a baseball clinic run by the Wisconsin School of Baseball out of Slinger, WI. For ages 6-15. Cost is $35/person for Y Members and $50/person for the general public. All Proceeds benefit the YMCA of the Fox Cities Annual Campaign. The WSB mission is to grow and develop the complete player. What is the complete player? A complete player is one who is mechanically sound, disciplined in all techniques, and is a team player with a positive winning attitude on and off the field. During this clinic the WSB staff will touch on the mechanics and techniques of fielding and hitting. The WSB staff has over 30 years of teaching the game of baseball, all WSB instructors have experience at the Major, Minor or collegiate level. Youth In Government Ski Sale • Heart of the Valley YMCA

Saturday, January 3 at 9:00 AM until 3:30 PM

New and used downhill and cross-country skis, snowboards, boots, poles and other ski equipment for all ages will be available from local dealers and sellers. Used ski equipment can be sold on consignment at the sale. Admission is $1 for ages three years and older and free to kids under three. Those wanting to sell merchandise should bring it to the Heart of the Valley YMCA from 5:00 to 9:00 PM Friday, January 2, 2015. Hear the delightful story, Owl Moon, about a young girl who goes owling with her father in winter and learn how to “whoo whoo” like Great Horned Owls searching for a mate. Afterwards we’ll head outside to call to the owls, so dress for the weather. We’ll conclude with hot chocolate and a chance to look at owl pellets.

2015 Father/Daughter Dance • Heart of the Valley YMCA

Come join us for our 7th annual Father/Daughter Dance! Girls, get dressed-up for a night with your dad, grandpa, or special someone. Cost is $20 per couple if registered before February 6, and $25 per couple after February 6. Included in the cost, your night will be filled with music, dancing, cookies, and a photo booth. Additionally, there is a 50/50 raffle and the chance of winning one of our many gift baskets through our basket raffle. YMCA Indoor Triathalon Series • Appleton YMCA

The Oshkosh YMCA (January 17), YMCA of the Fox Cities (February 14) & Greater Green Bay YMCA (March 15) have teamed up for the first ever Fox Valley Regional YMCA Indoor Triathlon Series! Participate in each race in the series to earn the bragging rights and test your fitness level against other athletes from the Fox Valley area. These events are open to ages 8 & up and need to be a minimum height of 4’6” to enter. All events are time based, rather than distance based, so ANYONE can participate. Registration is required at www.active.com or by paper registration at the participating branch.

2nd Annual Bridgie Sprints & Family Funski • NMY

This cross-country ski event held at the Best Western Premier Bridgewood Resort Hotel golf course in Neenah is for all ages and skill levels. The event will be held on Sunday, February 15. There are three different events. A Competitive Bridgie Sprints division for those more experienced & Novice/Recreational Bridgie Sprint division. Participants will have two heats guaranteed that will be timed over the 1.6K freestyle ski course before finalists selected for additional heats. Space is limited to for 48 skiers in each division. The Family Funski is open to all ages to ski around the traditional cross-country ski course. Skis for Family Funski are available to rent. Register on Active.com.

What can you and your family create in the snow? Sculpt, build, and shape large earth art outside and then walk the "gallery" to view all the artwork you have created.
