BICYCLE TOUR TO GUCKENBERG-STURM PRESERVE

Wednesday, September 27
10:00-11:30 AM

Cost: Y Member - FREE; General Public - $5

Starting at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA, we will take a 5-mile ride to the Guckenberg-Sturm Preserve adjacent to Stroebe Island. This 48-acre preserve was purchased by the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust in 2005. The marsh and surrounding floodplain forest represents one of the last remaining pristine, open cattail marshes found along the Lower Fox River. During our visit, we may see birds on the DNR ‘Species of Greatest Conservation Need’ list feeding in the preserve or using the preserve as a migratory staging ground. So, do not forget your binoculars! Round trip, this tour will be 10 miles. We expect to ride 10-12 mph and expect it will take approximately 1.5 hours.
