May is National Water Safety Month, and we invite children ages 6–16 (must be 6 on or before May 9, 2026) to join us for a special pop-up Safety Around Water class at the Y.
This one-day class gives youth the chance to build confidence in the water and learn important skills to stay safe in and around the water.
Help Keep Your Child Safe
Drowning can happen nearly anywhere with standing water. But, as a parent or caregiver, you can’t keep your children sidelined. You need to equip them with the tools they need to be confident in and around water so they don’t lose out on the health benefits of exercise, the opportunities to bond with family and friends and the sense of accomplishment when they learn new skills.

Due to a generous donation from the Brown Family, this program is FREE.
*Swimsuits to borrow are available by request. Sizes are limited. Requests must be received by May 1 to ensure your preferred style and size is available.
