The Y is excited to be able to offer a full tennis center now at the Ogden YMCA and Valley Tennis Center! Our updated tennis center has 6 indoor hard courts, a large air-conditioned viewing area, full locker rooms with professional towel service, onsite ProShop including re-stringing services and so much more! 

Our full tennis center offers court time/rental, junior tennis programs, adult tennis programs, tennis lessons by one of our trained tennis professionals, leagues, training tools, as well as tournaments and events.

Meet Scott, Tennis Director at Ogden YMCA

Scott has been a PTR teaching professionally for over 20 years. He headed up Valley Fitness & Racquet's Tennis Programs since they opened in 2012, and is now heading up the program at the Ogden YMCA.  He was the manager at Four Seasons Tennis and Health Club in Sherman, Texas before coming to Wisconsin in 1998 and eventually becoming Director of Tennis at Club West in Neenah. He was most recently the Junior Director at Western Racquet and Fitness Club in Green Bay.

Scott has played collegiately at Navarro Junior College where he was a national champion in singles and second in the nation in doubles and then transferred to Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant Oklahoma. There, he majored in Marketing and got his Masters in Business Administration. He currently is playing 5.0 USTA league tennis where his team won state in 2011.  

Scott was named the PTR Wisconsin Member of the Year and received that award in Hilton Head in Feb 2018.






Our progressive lesson approach teaches youth the fundamentals of tennis starting at age 3. Children will work with one of our tennis professionals to learn the fundamentals of the game and develop their skills beginning with Jump Start for new learners and will take youth all the way to the high school varsity level and beyond.

Jump Start

This program is designed to teach the fundamentals of tennis is a fun format. The kids use a modified ball, smaller rackets and a smaller court to make the game easier to learn.

A program that focuses on the fundamentals of stroke production and match play in a way that makes is fun to learn the game of tennis.

Each player will be scheduled 2 unsupervised matches per month. Sessions go from September-August. Join anytime and drop out anytime.

  • Cardio Tennis: A high-energy fitness activity that combines tennis with cardiovascular exercise delivering the ultimate aerobic workout.

  • Adult Drills/Lessons: These drills focus on technique, court positioning and strategy.
  • Friday Night Social: A coed doubles mixer. Enjoy playing with different tennis partners throughout the night.

Cardio Tennis

Bracket Challenge

Match play for all levels. Pool play followed by a tournament draw.
$15 to join each session and just pay court time when you play (Unlimited Tennis eligible for court time).

If you are looking to try tennis for the first time, or, have played in the past and looking to return to the sport, this is the class for you! In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of tennis including stroke production, court positioning, scoring, and the rules to be able to enjoy the game on your own. Upper-level classes and leagues are available after the completion of the class.

Training is a great way to work on and improve your skills. We offer the opportunity to rent Playmate Ball Machines to use during your court time (fees apply). In addition, meet with one of our tennis pros and get a Video Analysis to enhance player development (fees apply).
