VOLUNTEERS

For over 134 years the YMCA of the Fox Cities has been serving our community to support those in need to build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Whether through health and wellness, childcare, youth and development programs, or chronic condition programs, generations of people in our community have participated in life-changing Y programs to improve their overall well-being and quality of life.

The Y’s mission is the driving force of everything we do; to put Christian principles into practice by promoting youth, adult and family activities that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. Through our mission, we practice stewardship in our community.

You may ask, what is stewardship?

Stewardship is recognizing that all we have is a gift from God and that we must share these gifts through time, talents and treasures. We are reminded in 1 Peter 4:10, “As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s valued grace.” This could be spending time with someone who is lonely, volunteering your coaching skills at a youth sports camp, educating someone on healthy living to increase their quality of life, or providing financial support to connect those with opportunities that would otherwise not have them. These are all ways we practice stewardship to take care of the gifts God has entrusted to us.

When we share our gifts from God, we develop a stronger community for everyone. As stewards, we create a community of kindness, compassion and service to benefit the lives of others. When we come together to share our gifts, we can achieve much more in the Fox Cities.

Our members, donors, boards and staff live by the principles of stewardship to create a welcoming and positive environment for all. Taking care of people is what we do, and we are proud to move our mission forward as stewards to strengthen the foundations of our community. Thank you for all you do to make the Y a special place.

As a community, we are stronger together! Please consider sharing your gifts of time, talents, and treasures with the YMCA of the Fox Cities. To learn more about opportunities please visit the website links below:
