JUDO

Available at Neenah-Menasha YMCA. Judo is best described as a special martial art, derived from Ju-jitsu. Judo uses throws, pins and submissions. It is an Olympic sport, an art and a way of life. Judo is a means of self-defense and teaches discipline, builds self-confidence and is a great recreation and fitness program.
 

YMCA Judo Instructor Mehdi Mohammadian

 

 

Instructor: Mehdi Mohammadian, Kudan, 9th degree black belt in Judo, United States Martial Arts Association. He was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Association’s Hall of Fame in 2002, and the Wisconsin Judo Hall of Fame in 2014. Mehdi began teaching Judo in the United States in 1964 at the Oshkosh YMCA until 2020. And also has been teaching at the Neenah-Menasha YMCA since 1984. Sensei Mehdi is assisted in his classes by Shandra Stevenson, 3rd degree black belt; Katie Sell, 4th degree black belt; and Adam Stevenson, 2nd degree black belt.
